What Are We About?
Most simply, we are about bettering the daily lives of our members.
Child Haiti is a community oriented and community serving association devoted to enriching the cultural and educational opportunities for the youth of Cité Soleil.
At any given moment the members of Child Haiti are working on new projects designed to teach children about the world both in and outside of Cité Soleil. Our students get the chance to expand their perspective through an exploration of formal and informal education techniques. While our immediate focus is ensuring a quality form of education, we also provide the necessary resources needed for this learning to happen by ensuring that the children have enough to eat and have access to medical resources.

Our Story
The association ENFANT (Filial Love for Children that Suffer) was a non profit, non governmental association founded on December 22, 2007 in Cite Soleil. It was composed of 8 members, including president-founder-coordinator-general director Geleste Louis. He was inspired to create the association because he saw the situation that the kids of the community in Cite Soleil had to go through. The kids, many of whom didn’t have enough money to help pay for their studies, were the actors in many bad actions in the community. Because of this, he created an association not only to guarantee education in many forms to the kids.
The association knew that learning happened in many ways besides formal education. Organizing field trips, round table dicsussions, and local community events encouraged a greater cultural education and awareness to possible solutions that affected their neighborhood.
To ensure that the children are able to do their best learning the association started providing other necessities. They incorporated medical treatment, after school meals, and outdoor activites to encorage good physical health.
Our American associates joined ENFANT in March of 2015 and helped form what is now Child Haiti, a partnership designated to improving the lives of the children in our organization. Over the past year Child Haiti has expanded its base of donors and supporters, its team of organizers in the U.S. and Haiti, the many programs it offers, and the necessities they supply their members.
